LOREN GABEL

Gabel, a senior forward at Clarkson, scored twice in a 4--2 win over Harvard, netting her 100th career goal. Through 32 games she leads Division I in goals (34) and is second in points (61). Last year she had a team-high 75 points, helping the Golden Knights earn their second straight national title.
AMBRANETTE STORR

• Kankakee, Ill.
Ambranette, a 5'10" junior point guard at Kankakee High, averaged 24.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists to lead the Kays to a 30--0 regular-season record and a runner-up finish in the Class 3A regional title. She scored 27 points in the championship game.
CHRISTIAN BAKER

• Kirkwood, Mo.
Christian, a senior at Kirkwood High, won the Music City high school indoor invitational two-mile in 9:17.82 to qualify for the national championships. He also took the MHSAA Class 4 cross-country title, setting a meet record on the 5,000-meter course. Christian will run for Tulsa next year.
PEYTON ANGULO

• Upland, Calif.
Angulo, a sophomore infielder at Utah Valley, went 7 for 7 with three RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of Seton Hall and Southern Utah. Through 10 games she is 11th in D-I in batting (.586) and sixth in hits (17). Last season Angulo batted .338 and was named WAC Freshman of the Year.
CAROLINE KURGAT
• Track and Field
• Eldoret, Kenya
Kurgat, a senior at Alaska-Anchorage, ran the 3,000 meters in 9:07.05 at the UW Preview to break the D-II record of 9:09.50. Two weeks later she set the D-II mark in the 5,000 (15:28.46) by 32.23 seconds. Kurgat is the reigning national champ in the 5,000 and 10,000.
