Mason, a junior midfielder at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., netted 10 goals in a 16--8 win over Notre Dame of Maryland in the Division III tournament. She's only the third player in the event's history to score 10 times. Mason finished the season with 96 goals.

Paap, a senior outfielder for Minnesota State, in Mankato, broke school career records for hits (307), runs (197) and stolen bases (112) in a doubleheader sweep of Upper Iowa. She finished the year batting .364 with 42 steals. In 2017, Paap ranked third in hits (100) in Division II.

Drew, a junior at Southport High, finished in 1:01:33 to take his third consecutive USA Triathlon High School national championship, winning by 2:32. Last October he came in seventh at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.

Beeney, a senior at Stephen F. Austin, was named MVP of the Division I championships after rolling eight strikes and a spare in a 4--1 finals victory over top-ranked Vanderbilt. She had a total pinfall of 626 over three games. Beeney earned honorable mention All-America.

David, a freshman at Byrnes High, pinned Summerville's Rico Robinson in the first period to take the 106-pound title in Class 5A, capping a 50--0 season. He earned county and region II-5A titles, and he also beat seven eventual champions from four other states.
