Semira, a senior at Brebeuf Jesuit Prep, ran the state's fastest time this year in the 100 meters (11.50) and the 200 (23.98) at the Marion County meet. In 2018 she took the 100 (11.55) and anchored the winning 400 relay (46.87) at the state finals. She will run at UNC.

BROOKE NADOLNY

• Clinton Township, Mich.

Brooke, a senior pitcher and shortstop at L'Anse Creuse High, hit her 56th career home run in a 8--5 win over Marysville, setting the state record. In 27 games she is batting .738 with 17 homers. Last year Brooke went deep 26 times, tying the state mark. She will play at Wayne State.

BRENDAN BURNS

Brendan, a senior at Conestoga High, set a Pennsylvania record in the 100-yard butterfly (46.79) at the state finals and won the 100 backstroke (46.95), taking both events for the third straight year. In April he set his fourth career national YMCA record at the short-course championships.

HAYLEY BELLES

• Fort Collins, Colo.

Belles, a graduate student at Colorado State, crossed the line first at the USA Triathlon Collegiate Club championships (2:18.06) to lead a Rams sweep of the podium, the only school to do so in event history. She also finished atop the Mountain Collegiate conference.

MAIA WEINTRAUB

• Philadelphia

Maia, a sophomore at Friends Select School, won the women's foil title at U.S. nationals, beating the 2018 and '19 NCAA champs. At 16 she was the youngest titlist in nine years. Maia, who ranks sixth among all age groups in the U.S., became, at 13, the youngest U.S. foil to earn a global ranking.

Mo' Wins for Mobolade

Mobolade Ajomale, a recent graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, appeared in FACES IN THE CROWD in the May 8, 2017, issue after taking the Division II indoor titles at 60 meters (6.60) and 200 meters (21.05). That was just the start of Ajomale's winning ways. With his victory in the 200 (20.80) at the D-II championships in Kingsville, Texas, last month, Ajomale finished his career with 10 national titles and 20 All-America honors. He became the fourth athlete to go back-to-back in the outdoor 200 since 1976. (He also threepeated in the indoor 200.) The Richmond Hill, Ont., native competed as an alternate for Team Canada in 2016, earning a bronze as part of the 4 ... 100 team. Returning to the Olympics in '20 is Ajomale's goal. First he'll compete at the Canadian championships next month.
