THE PANTHERS DISAPPOINTED LAST SEASON, BUT THERE'S PLENTY TO LOVE ABOUT A NEW SERIES CHRONICLING THEIR 2018 CAMPAIGN

STREAM

ALL OR NOTHING

Available now on Amazon Prime Video

At least this 7--9 team wasn't boring. Over eight new episodes chronicling the 2018 Panthers, All or Nothing—which previously spotlighted the Cardinals and Rams—goes behind the scenes with a preseason playoff contender through its 6--2 midseason summit and a subsequent seven-game losing streak. While there aren't as many memorable, or meme-able, moments as we seem to get every year from HBO's Hard Knocks, the Amazon series offers an intimate look at Cam Newton's underappreciated leadership qualities. And there are standout scenes, such as in the sixth episode when rookie cornerback Donte Jackson's youthful arrogance segues perfectly into Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown's torching him in a season-turning blowout loss to the Steelers. More than anything, though, the new season highlights the slim margin between winning and losing in the NFL. It might be painful to watch at times for Panthers fans, but All or Nothing still makes for compelling viewing, even though we already know how it all ends.

Can't get enough behind-the-scenes NFL access? HBO's cameras will follow the Raiders this preseason, despite owner Mark Davis joking in March that he'd rather fire coach Jon Gruden than subject his team to the series. What could possibly go wrong?
