Frank Deford
Frank Deford wrote for Sports Illustrated for three decades. He is the author of 20 books, both fiction and non-fiction. He has also appeared often on television and has been a commentator on NPR since 1980. He has won many awards, including six National Sportswriter of the Year honors, and is the only person connected with sports ever to have been presented the presidential medal of the National Endowment of the Humanities.
